Provides for automatic failover to a backup system upon detecting the absence of RealFlex execution. The backup computer maintains a mirror image of the primary database. Changes to the primary system are automatically made to the backup system over Ethernet, Arcnet, and/or Token Ring. Hot Standby w/ Automatic Failover also provides the user with the capability for control, monitoring, and application development utility access of the RealFlex master during normal operation. A serial link can also be established between the prime and backup systems to prevent false failovers due to a network problem.
Note: Minimally requires one (1) Ethernet, Token Ring or Arcnet card for the computer running RealFlex and correspondingly, one (1) Ethernet, Token Ring or Arcnet card for the computer running Hot-Standby w/Automatic Failover.
